This book is a guidebook for women, including fifty-four principles that every woman should own, know, and embody as she trailblazes her own journey.
My name is Kristen Black. I am the owner of a small boutique life coaching and consulting firm in Atlanta, GA called Konversations w/ Kristen. Since the onset of my company in 2013 I have incorporated one-on-one sessions to assist women with tackling their everyday issues, such as self-esteem/image, purpose, relationships, entrepreneurship, and self-family-work balance. Two months ago I published my second book, Adjusting Your Crown, the first being a book a wrote in 3rd grade called “I Hate Peas”. You think my mom made me eat a lot of peas or no? Laughing to myself, to answer the question she did and she not only made me eat peas, she made me do a whole lot of other things that I hated at the time but grew an appreciation for in my adult years, hence the inspiration behind my second book.
Taking all of the life nuggets my mother deposited into me, coupled with lessons learned from personal experiences, and the training derived from the school of life I wrote Adjusting Your Crown. This book is a guidebook for women, including fifty-four principles that every woman should own, know, and embody as she trailblazes her own journey. Adjusting Your Crown is more than just a book, something you read once and re-read again at a later date or pass along to a girlfriend. It’s a manual that many readers have said they choose to keep in their purse or office to lend those token reminders when facing everyday life circumstances; which bring me great joy because that response was a goal I had in mind while creating the book, so to me it serves its purpose. In Adjusting Your Crown we discuss everything from purpose, to sex, to God, to grace and even the vagina! Ladies this book has covered all the bases and introduces the topics we often brush under the table, overlook, do haphazardly, or ignore all together. It is my idea that it’s the lack of confrontation of the topics/issues we have each encountered or will encounter in our lifetimes that is keeping us unfulfilled, unhappy, and in unhealthy relationships. This book is designed to unleash the fear around certain issues, educate women on universal principles, and encourage every reader to live life strong. This book is intended to ignite purpose in your life, help you build better relationships, establish your beliefs, and most importantly truly live out the woman you were created to be in the midst of everyday distractions, calculated to throw you off course. Adjusting Your Crown is to empower you on your journey and provide you the basic reminders necessary to continue life with confidence and operating at your highest self.
