Before you begin to work with a blogger you should answer the question what is my goal for working with bloggers? The answers could be increase sales, increase awareness, brand credibility, product reviews, hosting an event and so on. Once you know why you want to work with bloggers you need to create a partnership guideline. These guidelines need to spell out each party’s (you the brand and blogger) responsibilities. Doing this upfront provides a clear understanding for everyone involved. After the responsibilities are agreed upon you as the brand should have an agreement ready for the blogger to sign. This is a must especially if money is being exchanged for the partnership. Bloggers with a big following often charge a fee for partnerships. Yes, big bloggers charge a fee for working with them.
If you don’t have the budget to work with the top bloggers look for niche bloggers who have an actively engaged community on their blog and social media platforms. Your goal might be to partner with beauty bloggers. If you can’t afford the top beauty bloggers, the next step would be to look at your local bloggers who write about beauty products. The plus side to this partnership is the local angle.
