Network marketing companies tend to get a lot of shade thrown their way. I don’t condone the shade, but I understand it. I also understand that they are legitimate businesses…for the right people — people who understand the system, can sell, and are ready to work (because it’s rarely an overnight success like some people think). If you are thinking about joining a network marketing company, evaluate at least these two things.
This should be a no-brainer, but there are people out there selling products about which they know nothing. Don’t be that person. If you want to represent this company, you should have at least tried the products you’re selling. You should be able to stand behind them. You should LIKE them.
Your Potential Sponsor
This, in my opinion, is even more important than being a user and advocate of the products you plan to sell. I say this because a good sponsor will tell you what I already did about being an advocate the products. A good sponsor will also be your coach and show you the ropes of how to be successful in the company. I’ve met many people, myself included, that signed up under someone and then were left to fend for themselves. The most successful network marketers I know had good sponsors and encouraging teams that had regular meetings.
If your review of the above two points is positive, then you’re one step closer to sign up. Other, typical things to consider are how much time and money you plan to invest in your new business. Only you know those answers, but a good sponsor can at least help you come to a conclusion that will work for you.
